Lighting seems very uneven on this one. An exposure compensation in post processing would have let you lighten the trees and bushes without disturbing the nice whites of the building and fence. Overall a pleasing composition.

I guess the vignetting was intentional. Maybe overdone.

Yes it is a small house. Unless you are going for the soft focus I think you could have sharpened a bit.

This subject has a lot of potential. However, your picture suffers from a few problems. The good news is you can correct all of them either by taking it again or in processing. :)

First, it's very low contrast. Try using the auto levels feature in your software. Or search Google for "Photoshop levels" or "Photoshop curves." Many programs other than Photoshop offer those features; I just find it easiest to find tutorials using Photoshop as a keyword.

Second, the dead straight-on angle isn't nearly as interesting as I'm sure you could find. Try going to one corner, or putting the house in one corner of the pic, or catching the angle of the roof against the sky.

Finally, and this isn't as critical as the other two, it's probably not as sharp as it could be. It seems like it's focused fine, but digital photos always are a little blurred in the fine detail when they come out of the camera. Try playing around with either the sharpen command in your software or experiment with/learn about the "unsharp mask."

Good luck!

Maybe a little more contrast and a tighter crop would have made this better.

The colours in this are a little dull. Perhaps the contrast should be tweaked?
