I was fully expecting to see some woodys in this challenge, glad I wasn't disappointed.

Not sure what exactly the message you're trying to convey here, it's clear they're going to burn the ribbons, but it's not entirely clear why, or am I just overthinking this?

This is a wonderful capture - very natural and unposed. The monotone effect is a huge plus and gives this image a sense of time and place long past. If there was one nitpick, it would be the rock in the foreground - I might have cropped the rock out and just gone with the dog and painter - the foreground rock doesn't really do anything for the image other than lengthen it and in this case, while it doesn't detract too much, it's really not necessary to complete the image. Well done.

Interesting sculpture, I didn't know there was already a monument for me :) Hope to read where it is after the challenge. You were not lucky with the weather, the flat light and dull sky don't help the image. Had also looked for a view without the building in the background.
