Jeepers! Are you sure this is a cucumber? Looks like an alien from who know where. Clever take on the challenge. Could probably be in stronger focus. The shadow is a bit strong. Maybe better lighting would have eliminated the shadow, "or" since the shadow looks something like a profile, think about zeroing in on it and making it a strong part of the composition. I do like your original take on the Challenge.

A suitable subject for the challenge for sure, however the lighting is unbalanced with more light coming from the right side leaving the left side, which contains the main complexity of the watch, is too dark.
