I have come back to this image a few times now. I know it must mean something to you or you would not have submitted it. But I am sorry, I just don't see your 'darkness' in it. Perhaps I am missing something. I passed on voting on this one since I don't think it fair to ding you for something I cannot see/interpret in my head. Not on a challenge such as this one. Perhaps a bit too much post processing? Large sections of the picture are washed out in the lime green and don't actually add to the picture.

Abstracts, particularly where the the effects are photographic and not "real" generally do not do well with DPC voters and it will show on a very low score for this image.

To the casual viewer it looks more like the shutter was tripped by mistake and that it would nomally be a throw away image.
