A World Wide Symbolby nsharpComment by nsharp: Well, I have to say I'm disappointed, but not surprised. The picture does fail to really explain my point of view, and that is my fault (although I don't have the talent tools or money to really do it right). The picture idea comes from my (limited) travels in South America. "World-Wide" is perhaps too broad, "Third-World" is more like it. To a great number of people in this world, America is very much a symbol of power, affluence, and material wealth. The fact that yes, there are poor people in America really has nothing to do with that and doesn't detract from my statement.
To Willtorecord, I would say that to me it is interesting that a single symbol can have so many meanings, depending on your point of view. This is particularly true with this symbol, especially today as our tyrannical leaders twist the meaning of the flag for their own agenda. My hopes here were (in vain) to try and show the alternate point of view that a great portion of the rest of the world have.
Thanks to those who commented, it is greatly appreciated. I am still interested in technical/artistic comments, if anyone have them. |

A World Wide Symbolby nsharpComment by GriZzly_UK: Not a big fan of patriot art in international arenas, others could suggest the American flag represents anything but a world wide symbol. |

A World Wide Symbolby nsharpComment by Willtorecord: Its hard to judge, what comment this photo is making?
And what is the tone of that comment.
Only shwoing which is real(the pwoer of a nation)? Or obliquely shwoing the irony of it???
