DSCF8525B.jpgby photom1946Comment by slaakso: It really is a nice interplay of clouds and branches. The blue sky is incredible as a backdrop for it all. Good eye. |

DSCF8734A.jpgby photom1946Comment by slaakso: It is definitely a yellow building. The Hair Braiding/Tire Shop is quite strange. I like your perspective. |

DSCF8734A.jpgby photom1946Comment by icu1965: Tires and braids. I suppose that's one way to kill two birds with one stone! I don't know why you had to beg the owner to take a photo? It's nice and bright, I'm sure it gets a lot of peoples attention. |

DSCF8734A.jpgby photom1946Comment by photom1946: Thanks for your reply Germaine. I guess since I am a former telephone engineer who's job it was for 20 years to engineer telephone service and LOOK at these "wires" by photo-eye has been permamently corrupted.
After the contest is over for yellow IV or abandoned buildings, I hope you will agree as to why I dropped this image and chose the other image. Being secret for obvious reasons! LOL
But, I agree totally with your comments as to the crop choices.
And, so far as ever returning...mmmmmm...that may not be a good idea. I don't think #1 this is a really safe neighborhood, and #2 I don't think I could photograph on the sly. But your comment is making me think about returning somehow.
I had to beg the owner for permission and since this place is as you say, curious, he gets a lot of photos taken of this place. If anyone from Georgia wants to know where this is, I will gladly share that info.
Again, TY for your feedback! |

DSCF8734A.jpgby photom1946Comment by Germaine: Hair braiding and tires! That's got to be a one-of-a-kind establishment! Personally, I wouldn't have let those wires bother me -- they go with the scene.
My only suggestion would be to tighten up the crop -- there's a lot of pavement in the foreground, and it's not as interesting as that yellow building and the signs.
I might go back when no one's around and take a series of pictures of the windows -- there's an awful lot going on that's worth taking a picture of. Also, I don't know if I'm crazy about the car. It's there, and it's in keeping with the scene, but it gets in the way of the building.
This is a great find -- just the kind of quirky shot I love. |
