How did you do all the strokes in different directions? You really turned the town scene in a painting.

You should be able to recreate the star(burst) effect with f/16 or more. I use Topaz Labs ReMask coupled with Topaz Labs DeNoise to only work on the sky noise, and leave the rest of the image sharp. Odd that you should get noise at 100 ISO? What camera?

I used a Canon 350D. Original processing was done in 2008 and when I combined the photos for HDR I didn't care too much, this was from a "photo of the day" side challenge I participated in.

I don't think the person was fishing, usually people climb on that side to just chill.

Was the man at the end of the pier by the wall of the light house fishing?

Awesome image Ken. Would love to see this in 1200px or in a gallery.

Super image, with the right lines, colours and the obligatory star effect. Possibly quite hard to do considering the rotating nature of the light source. Did the longish exposure highlight a bit of camera shake or is the new 1200px size harder to post process crisp sharp images? (I had difficulty and reprocessed my own entry 3 times to get it where I wanted it sharpness wise versus how my 800px images are processed.) I'm noticing that the 1200px images appear softer than their 800px counterparts. And yes I have a decent IPS LCD to be able to see the image at it's best. 8.

It was a bit sharper and then at the last minute decided to remove a bit of noise from the sky; the resulting image was a tad softer but I felt it fit the mood of the image. Essentially it was an artistic choice, not technical difficulty.

The lighthouse is not active and the light doesn't rotate anymore. Since I took this photo they replaced with another light and that nature star effect is gone.

I like the dual banded sky and the yellow of the light breaking the red by repeating the colour from the lower portion as it does
