Mean Machineby BowerbirdComment by DrAchoo: It's too bad there's so much pixelation artifact on the diagonal lines. I like the picture though, it is slightly off horizontal. |

Mean Machineby BowerbirdComment by Bear_Music: "feels" more telephoto than wide angle... More foreground might have helped give a sense of space. Helluva machine. |

Kookaburra Up Above in Down Underby BowerbirdComment by sfalice: Greetings from the Critique Club
Awww, what a cutie!
I know how hard it is to get birds in the first place and getting them in focus is even more difficult. This little guy could stand to be a bit sharper. However, you did get the catchlight in his eye, and that's very, very good.
I think someone commented on the center composition here. You might try different crops of this image. Perhaps cropping the right side of the frame almost to the bird, and then the top about 1/2 way from the present framing to the bird's head. That might give the Kookaburra a better perch from which to be seen. But try various crops to see how each one would affect the composition.
You have a very good start here, and I expect you had fun getting this image. I'll look forward to seeing more of your work here at DPC. |

Get Well Soonby BowerbirdComment by mandyturner: *Critique Club*
You entered a photo that has great quality, nice details, composition is good and the colors are nice. The photo does not say "Get Well Soon" to me at all. There is nothing about this photo that would make me want to purchase it as a card for a sick friend. I had a hard time picturing this image as any type of greeting card. Don't get me wrong, the picture is fine, but I just think that this was a bad choice for the challenge. Good luck in future challenges.
P.S. I did not even notice that the birds foot was missing until the challenge was over and I was able to read your comments.
