First off i must say thank you for entering the challenge its what keeps this site goings
second this is a great photograph,
you used good deph of field, good color combination
i enjoy the texture in the corks, and the color of the red wine that has seeped into them over the months or years as it may be

one thing i notice i would think caused you a few votes is you croped off the top of the cork, if it was completly round it would have added a more deeper feeling to the photo.

over all this is a good composed shot, no real big faults in your photography, its just the subject is a little boring, here on dpc its hard to find something that all the voters are going to enjoy

Photo's very clear with good colours. Not the most imaginative entry but quite solid. The colour is more orange than yellow which may have hurt your score a little. I would personaly have cropped a little tighter at the top and possibly made more of the water drops. Good idea and shot though.

Personally, I'd have rotated the image to make the grill even on the bottom, and just maybe have taken the photo horizontal to give your guy some space to fly into. Overall, it's not bad, though.

Nice angle. Clearer, more DOF, tighter crop out of right side with more hood-line on left might be better.
