Fireside - with ProPhoto RGB profile taggedby SinkyComment by Sinky: A followup post, mostly to Roz, Jess, Ken.
I dont think, by what you say, that the browsers you were using to see this photo were colour managed.
If you were to upgrade to firefox 3, and enable colour management, you'd see this become very bright and vivid, in colour, having ProPhoto RGB profile tagged.
And yes, Ken, one has to assume that much of the DPC population would be using non-colour-managed browsers, and therefore it is always safest to save your web photos in sRGB. But, if you want to see and use other colour profiles, then upgrade to firefox 3...........with no downside in the decision. |

Fireside - with ProPhoto RGB profile taggedby SinkyComment by icu1965: It's interesting to see them around a fire when it's about 100 degrees F here! Just reminds me that things are different an the other side of the world!
eta: I agree with roz, the colours are neither dull nore bright, more in the middle. Message edited by author 2008-07-16 13:11:41. |

Fireside - with ProPhoto RGB profile taggedby SinkyComment by Ken: Nice family scene, and I like how they're all doing something.
I'm viewing with Firefox 2, which is assuming sRGB and it looks just fine with good color. If this is tagged with a different colorspace, does DPC change it sRGB? Just another though also, when posting pictures we need to keep in mind that that majority of viewers are using non-color managed browsers on uncalibrated monitors. It's probably best to assume sRGB for viewing.
Thanks for the link - it looks to have a lot of good info. And now I really, really need to upgrade to Firefox 3. |

Pensive and tiredby SinkyComment by Ken: That looks really warm and cozy. I like the soft light - somehow this wouldn't work as well with different light. |
