There are some stories this engine could tell - brilliant photo!

Good subject. I'm fond of old rusty things :-) The white sky isn't doing you any favors..more direct light on a less cloudy day might make it 'pop' a little more.

At another time of day, when you could balance the exposure of the engine against the sky, this would be very good. If I had to shoot in this kind of overcast, I'd get even closer in and try to include as little of the sky as possible (optimally none).

well done photo and i like the idea of a train, but the rust and paint coming off doesn't do anything for me I wonder if b&W would have been better?

Wow! I can feel the power this engine once produced. It's almost like the retired warrior. Lots of emotion evoked with this shot for me. Extremely sharp. If you did post processing, you were very judicious. If no post processing was done, it's even more impressive. Excellent work. Irated this high. Gave it a 9.

The angle this picture was shot at gives it a sense of movement which works very nicely in contrast to the fact it has obviously been a long time since this beast went anywhere. Ahh but in it's day... I wish the sky had some color in it. Did you try converting to black and white?
