Preserving the Greenby gminishComment by andrewm: I really like this photo--I know there is no real focus point but I view it as a sort of landscape--it is quite fascinating |

Preserving the Greenby gminishComment by lisae: Cool! I don't know where you're from, so you might not understand this, but this photo brings back really vivid memories of old "Dr. Who" episodes :).
I love all the weird shapes and textures in here. But I think maybe it would have been more effective if you cropped it a bit more tightly. It's just a bit busy, and parts are overexposed, for no good reason that I can see. Nice idea though. |

Preserving the Greenby gminishComment by FranziskaLang: challenge met. i like how the water froze in round blobs in many places, but how you also have a couple of icicles. the green is a nice touch. what i'm missing a bit in this shot is a focal point. yes, i know it's supposed to be the green, but it doesn't stand out enough, my eyes are roaming around the photo trying to find a place to "rest". |

Preserving the Greenby gminishComment by alanfreed: It's definitely an interesting shot, but there's something that is keeping me from rating it among my highest. It seems like it lacks a solid subject -- there's no real focal point in the image... I guess that's what's bothering me. It may have been more effective to focus in on one icycle and its surroundings...? |

Tranquil Berthby gminishComment by bod: OMG, you can't work there it looks way too cold!
I like the lights on the water. I would probably have gone with a tighter crop on the pier myself, maybe shot so the trees at the front could be cut out completely.
Still, a nice shot. It looks like you work in a beautiful (if cold) place. |
