Jump for Joy by zymaraComment by zymara: Thanks for all the lovely comments and my first blue! Can't believe I've been here since the very first challenge, finally got a blue ribbon, yay!
This photo was taken in the Salish Sea, the waters between Washington state and British Columbia. This is a humpback whale calf affectionately known as "Poptart". His mother, known as BCX0324 "Big Mama", has been coming here for over a decade, bringing along several calves over the years who are also often seen in the area as they continue returning as adults. |

Jump for Joy by zymaraComment by JakeKurdsjuk: As I watched my score and kept my fingers crossed that this might be the month I actually win a Free Study, this is the image that had me worried. Congratulations on a well deserved Blue. Wonderful shot. |

Jump for Joy by zymaraComment by Neat: Very powerful shot. I love all the tiny droplets of water. I've often thought it would be rather neat to capture something like this. I Just feel the crop is just a touch to tight. I'm wondering when that whale lands where is it going to place his head.... just saying, already voted. |
