Pismo Beach 3by slickchikComment by PenelopeK: Lovely textures, nice image. I notice how sharp the edges of the "ridges" are, suggesting perhaps water was running through the grooves as the tide went out. Here on the cape we usually get a much softer version of this. |

Pismo Beach 1by slickchikComment by tvsometime: Very effective use of selective focus within a few feet of the camera to let the more distant surfer take on its elemental form in its environment. By blurring the details, the figure assumes a familiar, even monumental, posture on the beach and in our minds. |
