Corn!!!by nathaliedooComment by jmsetzler: there are lots of lines in this subject, but they don't really seem to represent 'leading lines'... - setzler |

Corn!!!by nathaliedooComment by kandyj: This is a really nice photo, IMO. It may not be the best example of leading lines, though. Love the color, repetition, and clarity. |

The Lookby nathaliedooComment by nathaliedoo: Thanks Doug! Appreciate mostly all your comments. The only thing I'd like to clarify is that there was only one light source: a flash! maybe this is what did the trick of many glares. Besides, Of course, if post processing would have been allowed I wouold have limited the yellow color to the eye but I couldn't and didn't dislike the effect but it seems to have to many commenters so I guess I should remember it next time! Thanks for your time, always a pleasure to read you!

In the Winter Fields ...by nathaliedooComment by lisae: Interesting subdued, pastel colours. I think this would work OK as a stock photo, but it maybe seems a little bit too washed out. Lovely textures though, and the composition is effective. |

The Lookby nathaliedooComment by DougPaz: Greetings from the Critique Club };-)
Initial thoughts
A real "Eye Catcher", meets the challenge, seems a bit over saturated
Composition/ Content
The thing I like the best about the shot is the angle of the eye. So many folks shoot it straight on and that makes this shot stand out. Cropping seems good as well.
Camera Work - Technical
Focus seems a little soft. It is hard to tell if that was straigh from the camera or because of post processing, but for a macro like this it is all important. The glare in the eye is little overpowering. It appears that you had too many light sources for this. When shooting something that you know is going to reflect it is usually better to limit yourself to one light source.
Digital Processing - Technical
I think if you could have limited the yellow color to the iris of the eye you would have been OK here but when the yellow overflowed to the skin as well it may have gone over the boundary of what is natural. It certainly gives it color but adds to the graininess and is a little disturbing. It appears from your comment that you like it that way and that is most important though. Don't let anyone tell you different!!
Fits The Challenge
Definitely fits the challenge well.
My Opinion On The Photo
I originally scored this shot a five as did most of the voters. I think that it meets the challenge and was certainly interesting but may have pushed the envelope for the post processing. Good job, and keep up the good work.
I would be happy to talk further about this shot if you would like to contact me.
