I have used 1/8, F/2.7 (limit), 38 mm (35 mm equivalent = 6 mm / full wide)

There are glass/plexiglass windows (A good thing for safety!), but not the best for taking pictures. Later on I was actually sitting down there (se other photo, looking up), and I appreciated the glass - so people could not spit or throw items 32 floors down onto me!

When sitting there enjoying a traditional chinese trio - and occasionally gazing to the ceiling - I saw numerous flashes go off from that same position on the 88th floor, although behind glass. Amazing how many people do not understand that the flash is no good through glass, let alone for a 200+ meter distance!

Of other interesting notes - the wall on the far side contains the elevators. It is translucent, so you can see the elevators go up and down, in a faint but sufficiently visible light. When going inside the lifts, you can also see somewhat through the sides ...

I am somewhat new to this.

I took a series of shots with the sun in various positions behind and besides the statue. I wanted to make it state something like "We give you the sun itself" or "I have the sun in my hand".

I have cropped the image, given it a little more warmth and adjusted the light. Are you suggesting I should boost the reds?

This statue is situated in East China Normal University (Shanghai), and it is said that THIS particular "Mao" is, if not encouraging, then at least blessing and protecting the interaction between males and females who care for each other ... so the students say anyway!

I am new to photography, at least, on a more serious level. I find it very interesting, and I now bring my camera most places I go, in case I see something worth taking pictures off ... like this evening. See my section on Kuala Lumpur - Petronas Towers - because this picture was actually on my way home from these Petronas pictures ...
