I would have made sure to to use the whole 150 kb limit, this is 54 kb, which means your file could have nearly been three times as large(with respect to detail). Take a look at this tutorial if you you use photo shop. I also think alittle bit of color in the image would have helped your score and some sort of noise reduction software like neat image or if you don't want to download the free version you can try using gaussian blur and fade the amount in the opacity. You have some good images in your portfolio but I think they need alittle work on post processing and if you look through the tutorials they can be a huge help. I know they helped me out alot. Hope this helps you.

Thats a great action shot that you captured, although the diver appears out of foucus the expression of the boy framed between the diving board really gives it that summertime carefree feel you really only have when your young. It appears he is jumping right along with the diver. Nice Capture! A suggestion might be if you have would be to straighten the line where the pool and concrete meet so that the pool does not appear to be slanting down to the right. just a suggestion.

Hey there from the Critique Club

Camera Work/Technical: I think that your focus emphasizes your background a bit too much. If you could have caught the blur on a more shallow depth of field, I believe that your score would have benefited.

Lighting: Your lighting came out terrific. It is the main strength of this image.

Composition/Content: While the pole does give away the fact that the image was shot at a tilt, I do not believe that it detracts from the capture at all. It adds some interest to the photo, and actually helps move the viewer around the frame.

My Opinion: I really like it, but I think that it relied too heavily on the title. Keep in mind that these challenges have 200, 300, even 400 entries, and the voters spend very little time trying to figure out what is in the frame. I think that this image is far better than a 4.8, but it just took too long to figure out what was there. Nice work, and I look forward to more.

This captures the mood of the subject well.

It's a shame there isn't more light on the girl's face, creating a bit more contrast. But then, it is a rainy day, I suppose...
