Harper sepia portraitby krnodilComment by silverfoxx: she looks almost exactly like my kitty, only the dark spots are a bit brighter.
I miss her so much, she left us for almost a year, but it feels like now. maybe this is why over 50% of my fave photos are of cats.
you are lucky! |

simpleby krnodilComment by geoffb: Great reflection. The grater itself looks almost magical with that bright light inside. |

Gyration in Blueby krnodilComment by posthumous: I thought this conveyed spinning in a dynamic fashion. I gave it a 6. That's higher than what I gave the blue ribbon winner. :) |

A Chain's Reactionby krnodilComment by levyj413: I really liked this. I considered doing something with paper chains, but couldn't come up with a good idea. You did, and you shot it well. The colored background definitely adds some visual interest, too. :)
Congrats on your personal best and top 10 in a tough challenge to shoot well! |

Wood Carvingby krnodilComment by jackal9: Personally I find it very hard to emulate true film grainyness (sp?) in digital, many years ago as a yearbook photogragher in HS we would push process Tri X (400 asa) to 1600 asa for things like football games where a strobe was useless and there wasn't enough light to stop action without it. The resulting grainy look from shorter process times had a very distintive look that and without using the effects filters (that aren't allowed in basic) I have never been able to get a good grain feel. Point is the oversharpening, although it does create some noise, is closer than anything else I've seen. For me due to focus on the lower part of the image I would say about 6 if the focus was spot on I would give it a 7 or maybe 8. hope this helps!! |
