Thanks for your comments on my other images, I thought I would comment on this one in return. I think it's a clever composition, with the path splitting up and whatnot. I think that what has hurt it for this challenge is that much of the photo is man-made - it looks like decking path with a fairly imposing fence, and I reckon that the challenge purists would have been after more "nature".

This is really a lovely photo with wonderful colors. I think the score you received is a little harsh. Possibly some voters had trouble identifying a clear subject, which IMO does NOT detract from this photo. Nicely done!

I think you did a great job capturing what you saw - the focus (not the literal focus - emphasis may be a better term) is definitely on the leaves, their color, and the tree trunk texture.
