IMG_ForestForTrees.jpgby noranekoComment by levyj413: Doesn't move me much, but as always, the question is: do YOU like it? :)
I tend to prefer sweeping vistas, which in the case of a forest at least includes the bottoms and tops of some trees. Without that context, I see a bunch of vertical lines but no overall theme. I guess that puts me in the group skewsme mentioned. |

IMG_ForestForTrees.jpgby noranekoComment by NikonJeb: You have to have the right kind of eye and personal history to appreciate this for the really good picture that it is.
But a lot of it is the aesthetic value of the forest itself and how beautiful and rare they are for most people.
Having lived in the woods my whole half-century of life, I love this piney-woods.....to a city dweller, it's just trees.

IMG_ForestForTrees.jpgby noranekoComment by skewsme: I love these kinds of shots and can't resist taking them. Sadly, I've found that dpc voters need a place for their eyes to travel to or rest on. One thing that you might try is a diffuse glow filter on this. It should pick up the white in the background and make it spooky. (Sorry, I just always like spooky ;-) |

Her Favorite Dressby noranekoComment by skewsme: I LIKE the desat a lot. It was a smart thing to do with this harsh light and water noise. I might, might have fiddled with the contrast of the fountain or brought the whites down a peg... or possibly have applied a touch of gaussian blur only to the background. Maybe. Excellent shutter speed and focus. Great capture overall. |

Padlockedby noranekoComment by MissyKay: Love the colors, especially the contrast between the rust and the silvery tones. GREAT! |

IMG_ForestForTrees.jpgby noranekoComment by xianart: interesting, and i like the way there's a true illusion as the fir tree at centre seems to stand in front of, and then behind the, uh, paler tree, to the right. |
