i first thought this was an eyeball. Nice picture but doesnt 'pop' enough if you get me. It would look good on a wall to be admired for a few seconds but i think the large dark part at the bottom right doesnt really serve a purpose, maybe a sqaure crop with the centre of the flower to one of the sides would have been more appealing... to me at least :)

I remember seeing this photo earlier in the month -- you must have posted it to your portfolio for awhile. It's very striking, though for my taste the eyes are a bit overdone. I think a subtler (more evenly drawn) line around the pupils would be less artificial. Overall though it's a good, flattering self-portrait.
