The shot in itself is beautifull but my eyes are going everywhere in that photo instead of being drawn to a strong subject wich is the point of Shallow DOF. Perhaps a closer composition with only a few berries in focus would have worked better.

The red berries in the middle are quite sharp and for the most part the eye is led right to them. I wonder if the image would be more dynamic if the angle of the shot were down one of the branches rather than a side view through the bush.

These are the ventilation stacks that provide airflow to a freeway tunnel that runs across Mercer Island, Washington. There is a park on the surface, which runs almost the entire length of the freeway tunnel. These stacks rise up here and there along the park and provide a most surreal landscape.
