"Angel's Embrace" (CW)by JokersSoulComment by e10icus: I like this one. I think I would like it better if there was something (shadow or texture) to give it spacial placement. (It looks like it's floating in "nothingness") |

False Bravado (CW)by JokersSoulComment by paynekj: As you've effectively asked for comments, here's mine:
I've given you a 6 because I like this. You've captured a good moment in time; it's in focus and exposed well and most importantly, it's interesting. My only wonder is could you have captured this from a lower angle? and got your subject isolated against the sky instead of half in front of the background.
I hope this is the sort of comment you were looking for. |

False Bravado (CW)by JokersSoulComment by jbirkman: This is such a cool shot and a fantastic background. I think this could be just a bit better if the shot were taken from just a bit lower to just move the foot above the rail in the background. |

"Angel's Embrace" (CW)by JokersSoulComment by paynekj: As you've effectively asked for comments (is it working?) here's mine.
I'm not voting because I'm in this challenge, but I think I would have given you a 5. It certainly fits the challenge. I like the composition and you've handled the exposure well. My major problem is that it doesn't look upright to me and I'm also not liking the wings being slightly out of focus.
Hope this is the sort of comment you're looking for. |

Bumper Bisonby JokersSoulComment by citymars: I think there is a difference between architecture and art, so points off for DNMC. Photo seems a little soft as well. |

"Angel's Embrace" (CW)by JokersSoulComment by bassbone: simple approach here - i wish the details on the figurine was a bit better
I don't quite follow the title postscript (CW). It almost seems like a tipoff for voting or something |

Fallenby JokersSoulComment by dtremain: dpc'ers do not like wood shots. Not sure why.
My immediate reaction is that the main part of your shot is in shadow, while the background / supporting parts are sunlit. Also, for a Western audience, the direction to lead the eye is from the left to right, and your shot tries to lead from right to left (and, for me, meets significant resistance for that angle / direction of travel).
You've got some nice colors in the woods in the background. |
