dpc'ers do not like wood shots. Not sure why.
My immediate reaction is that the main part of your shot is in shadow, while the background / supporting parts are sunlit. Also, for a Western audience, the direction to lead the eye is from the left to right, and your shot tries to lead from right to left (and, for me, meets significant resistance for that angle / direction of travel).
You've got some nice colors in the woods in the background. |

I can see that you have made this more interesting by rotating the image which does help but overall the colors are a bit flat. |

This is somewhat grey overall and lacking in color. There are some good shapes that do help it out. |

I like the composition, but I feel it lacks contrast and the grey border only adds to the feeling. |
