Comment by David Ey:
This looks a lot like a Boxer. I had a fawn like this one...Oliver, but he died at 11. I still have his son, Sonny, a brindle. They are great dogs, very good with children.

I can see that you have made this more interesting by rotating the image which does help but overall the colors are a bit flat.

Comment by EL-ROI:
This is somewhat grey overall and lacking in color. There are some good shapes that do help it out.

I like the composition, but I feel it lacks contrast and the grey border only adds to the feeling.

Congratulations on your first entry.
IMO this is a great shot of a much-loved and much-used playground toy.
I like the angle, composition, and lighting on this. I think the subject is challenging because you can't move it - your only option is to move the camera. I find the sidewalk cutting through the shot in the background distracting. If shooting from the other side would give a more uniform background, I think that would be better.
I would say do not be discouraged with your score.
What you entered may not be what people are seeing as they vote. For example, on my laptop, if the screen is vertical, the tucan's head is all-white and almost blown out, and the contrast in the shot is very low. However, if I tilt the screen back a bit, the picture has a great deal more contrast, and you can see the paint line and different shades on the tucan's head. What I'm saying is that some of your low votes may be a result of the voters' displays, and not a true reflection on your shot. For me, I would probably vote one point higher if I'd seen the shot with the monitor back a bit instead of in the vertical position.
I like your vision and eye, and am looking forward to seeing your next entry!

It's certainly bizarre. There are some dinosaur sculptures at the Ripley's museum near me that are done in a very similar fashion. Not sure if this is really architecture in my narrow-minded opinion. Cropped a touch on the close side for my preferences.

different and unique but um...not a piece of architecture. A building or a bridge would fit. Sculpture does not. If this is part of a larger structure I am not able to see it.

I like the B&W, seems to bring about the feeling of sadness of missing your old playground.
