I dont like the distracting background, if it was a more simple room with a wall, door, and painting or something on the wall, I think it would have come out nicer.

The looks like too extreme a crop - the shot appears soft and there's some chroma noise starting to show through.

The lighting also appears a little harsh - the reflected highlights appear blown out.

I'm guessing the vanishing point in this picture is supposed to be the point where the sun will set... or the use of the lightrays converging on the sun... but it's too unclear.

I am assuming that your lines are from the rays of the sun. Unfortunatly that means that they are not parallel. Great capture on the rays though.
