Sunset Over Garrison Lakeby ScholtenComment by glad2badad: As a stand alone photo it's "ok" IMO. I like the way the shoreline mimics the curving lines of the clouds. This effect helps to offset the feeling of a centered composition some. As is, this image still has some strong central themes to it with the horizon bisecting the photo pretty much in half. Not being there personally I can't say whether or not I would have taken the same image, or moved in some manner to offset the sun and horizon.
Regarding the challenge theme - not too sure this is in the spirit of the challenge. Technically, I guess it fits since you are shooting toward the light. If you had a subject in the foreground (other than landscape) it might feel different.
Just my observations. Good luck in the challenge. |

Technology Dichotomyby ScholtenComment by glad2badad: The bland sky may have worked in your favor on this one. The color jumps out nicely with overcast skies. This is a very good example of Anachronism IMO. Good eye to see it. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

The Rotating Lens of Cape Blanco Lighthouseby ScholtenComment by sidpixel: I think this could have achieved more if you had been able to capture the rotating action but I do like the lens and the way the sunlight is interacting with it. In the right challenge I bet a close up of that would make for a wow image. Good luck |
