I think the subjecct is too small for the frame- It's almost as thought the frame is fighting to be the subject. But I love this shot anyway!

I agree with rgo, the vertical bars of the background are a little bit distracting.
Other then that this is a beautiful photo, I find the sharpening to be exactly perfect and I loooooove the shallow DOF!

I dunno how it'd look, but I'd like to see how this might be without the person. You've got the structure in the background framed by the arch, so it would qualify, and I feel like the dark figure in the bottom is weighing the composition down, and keeps me from exploring the interesting columns and such of the structure in the background.

I like the comp as well, but find the background vertical bars to be quite distracting, especially as there's little color/tonal difference between them and the main subject. On the sharpening issue, I'd reckon it's about right on on the nose and left eye, and if anything, you could push it a bit more.
