i just flipped the canvus horizontally so the main focus would be on the left hand side as opposed to the right. I did this because my previous challenge pictures where so right heavy that I did not want to be a one note compositionally.

i don't get the composition here, the depth of field doesn't really do much for the photo and it doesn't seem to have a strong direction

In reading the title, this would almost have to be a self-portrait to fit into the challenge. If so, it is beautifully done. Soft and moody fits the concept, the tone really adds to that feel, and enough detail to convey the feeling of the subject. I like this even more now that I am commenting, and am upping the score. Nice image.
