When first viewed, there was a vague feeling that something wasn't right. On the third look, it became apparent that the head and throat were moving creating a slightly out of focus look that wasn't complimentary to the rest of the image by comparision to the detail of the still tree. Additionally, the lighting isn't the best, but that is probably the result of a overly bland indirect instead of direct lighting.

Yes, it is normally dark...........
However, this photo, while technically an alright photo of an owl, struggles to really connect me to the challenge topic. The entire image is too light. It looks to have been taken in the day. The colours do not contrast enough, with the owl's head merging into the surrounding tree. The crop also doesn't work for me. Tight around the bird and quiet narrow, it just seems awkward

Another shot where the title should have left more to the imagination. I would have had more interest in this photo and looked at it longer had I not seen the title and was then instantly connected.

Other than that, I do like the sense of motion and the rendering of a static subject into an abstract manner.
