This is my pet snake and i was able to get a fairly nice shot. Yes his eyes are naturally red. Thank you for all the tips.

I would have cut out the foreground because those woodchips are distractingly bright. I like the hollow log though, it makes for an interesting composition.

This is a nice composition, but the lighting is a little harsh. The red eyes of the snake make it look creepy. Or are those it's real color?

Isn't he lovely....like the composition, use of colour and texture but not the soft focus....this subject asks for a bit more tension, a bit more punch as though he is going to strike any moment.

I don't even want to ask how you got this shot! Great (and terrifying) expression on the snakes face, and he's well framed by his little nest in the shot.It looks a little bit too light, almost washed out. Was an onboard flash used?
