This is my pet snake and i was able to get a fairly nice shot. Yes his eyes are naturally red. Thank you for all the tips.

I would have cut out the foreground because those woodchips are distractingly bright. I like the hollow log though, it makes for an interesting composition.

This is a nice composition, but the lighting is a little harsh. The red eyes of the snake make it look creepy. Or are those it's real color?

Needs cropping to eliminate the forground litter.

Homer? Is that you? A whole new meaning to the word 'redeye', imho.

Isn't he lovely....like the composition, use of colour and texture but not the soft focus....this subject asks for a bit more tension, a bit more punch as though he is going to strike any moment.

colors blown out from the flash :( very destracting....... you must be daring getting in the face of that thing and flashing a big light

I don't even want to ask how you got this shot! Great (and terrifying) expression on the snakes face, and he's well framed by his little nest in the shot.It looks a little bit too light, almost washed out. Was an onboard flash used?

Is that Homer? Getting ready to shed skin?

Nice concept but I think the bottom third of the picture is distracting.

Composition look good.
You left enough room for Title and sub-titles.
Focus is good.
I like the photo.

Corn/fox snake? What a beautiful animal. Is that how his eyes normally are? Since I'm guessing this is a pet snake I would have like to have seen him in a more natural environlment... or at least stretched out some. You also lose a lot of detail in the whiteness or lightness of the shavings at the bottom of the photo, which detract from the photo... The snake is also too centered in this photo, I think, cropping in from all sides might have helped, although maybe this leaves sufficient room for words? I think I would have tried to make the snake a more substantial part of the overall photo.
