If the foreground had been in focus with a drop off to the back or vice versa or from right to left or left to right this would have been a stunning image and would have effectively demonstrated man made texture. A good concept with a flawed execution. Having said that, it still works well and should score higher than average.

Stunning. The composition is really tight as well. I love the Sigma EX line for this very reason. Sharp, excellent contrast and color and with a D40! Who says you need over the top camera gear (read:$$$$) to create a world class photo. Love it.
