She promised...by PrashComment by crabappl3: Taken while you walked past? Overall the image doesn't pull me in or relay a story. I see a man sitting on a bench and you walking past hoping to snap a pic without being seen. Engage the subject or change your position and it may have been a stronger shot. |

She promised...by PrashComment by Melethia: This is sad and evocative. Your title implies that his dear wife promised to stay with him but is no longer around. Your picture shows a man either sad or tired, possibly both. And it reminds us that time is an evil master. The partial desat to reduce color here is very appropriate - everything fades with age. |

She promised...by PrashComment by Coley: A few issues ... a good candid but not really a street type photograph IMO
Not sure about the big black thing lower left ... maybe some cropping might help |

She promised...by PrashComment by phlover: This would have been a favorite shot for me if there wasnt a black shadow and tree driving my attention from the subject. Still a nice shot overall in my opinion. |

Watching the extinction line...by PrashComment by Prash: Originally posted by rinac: Originally posted by Prash: Also, just to clarify, if a wildlife challenge happens again in future, with the same description, I will run to the zoo again.. unless the description clearly states 'no zoo pictures allowed'. |
Good on ya, me too! Not that mine was at a zoo, just that I have absolutely no problem with it and would do it myself next time.
As for the photo, I think Jessi pretty much sums up all the technical/editing issues I had with it also. Those "smudgy" bits she refers to look like spot blurring to me. Not sure what monitor you're using and you may not be seeing it so obviously, but it might pay to look at your image on other screens just to be sure, before uploading :) |
Thanks!
The spot blurring sources itself to the tiger's huge tongue on the glass that separated it from us camera junkies. For some reason, he got annoyed with me setting the shot up and taking too long.. so as I was about to click, he smeared the glass with his saliva;-)
About the crop and over sharpening, I agree.. I should have done better with those. |
