Smiley: the summer bugby kosmikkreeperComment: WOAH! COOL! 3D! Comes right off the screen! I don't know if it really captures the theme the best of all the entries, but this is probably the neatest macro bug shot I have seen short of a Pixar effect!! Hey, is that Rick Moranis in the background? |

Summer is Baseball Seasonby brentpaughComment: Well....I guess its better than Kayopectate Park. I took my kid Aquafina there once right before she graduated from Cheetos Jr. High over on Aunt Jamimah St.
Sigh, and to think I am watching "The Sandlot" on HBO as I type this.
'Tis a lovely shot though (and product endorsement), but might want to be careful of having those flowers crowd things. As it is, the flowers are almost trying to take over as the main subject. Plus, I think Minute Maid legally requires proper clearance for its signage on all photo reproductions. You wouldn't want to go to the Pepsi's Court. (yes I know Coke owns Minute Maid, but whats the difference)

Surf's up, dude!by jvdpcComment: Surprised to see there weren't more surf shots! You went for that nostalgic surfer mood like in the beginning of "Good Vibrations" rather than the action shots of when the refrain hits. The beginning of the song always did more for me too. |

Summer in Orlandoby jcvenComment: Why buy postcards? You could sell them. Very nice shot. Might want to lose the leaves at the top though...don't need them and can only distract. |

Just another sunflowerby jmawtComment: Just say "ahhhh" to seasonal allergies. (may cause dizziness, abdominal pain, and bloating...consult your doctor before using Flowernol) Ha...those dang medication ads have really ruined those perfect contrasty blue skies for me. Just kidding. Lovely sky, lovely shot, but lose the big green leaves....crowding the subject. |

Favorite Fishing Holeby SonifoComment: Such a wonderful and moving shot, I so want to see it perfect. Its soooo close, but the top gets distracting. At very first glance I wasn't sure about the main bright sun spot, but thats the best part actually. Then, however, if you put your hand up to the screen just enough to block out everything to the left of the top bright spot it reallly comes to life. When that area isn't distracting and taking away from the rest it is stunning. The top bright spot might be ok too, but at the very least really, really needs to fix that dark spot in the top left corner.
Really a wonderful shot though, something to cherish. |
