Cowboyby LydiaComment: #3, tied with another.
I should point out I only have three entries ahead of this one.
This photo is lacking something. Maybe the other side of the door, a horse in the paddock, or rancher somewhere in there. Maybe even more of the door showing so that the hay floor stands out on the right. I would have liked to something tie the title to the photo a little tighter. That being said, I think real thought went into the setup, and it's pretty sharp, so I ranked this higher than I normally would. |

Anguishby vawendyComment: #2, tied with another.
In what was tantamount to a free study, many of entries seemed bereft of quality. Maybe they put no effort because of the restrictions on the camera.
Anyways, I rated this higher than I normally would because it appears real thought went into the composition and execution even though it's not normally my cup of tea in free study'esque challenges.
Left the same comment with the other #2 vote. Normally I would write something different, but both entries are really similar, thus warrant the same comment. |

Ahh, the number was left there. Thought I deleted it.

internet romanceby klkitchensComment: #3, tied with another.
Clever idea but the image itself is a little flat. Gave it huge bonus points for the idea alone. Dark background, candlelit dinner, lion fur rug, fireplace roaring, ... |

Voltby jnenvirComment: #2
Simple.
Signifies the current efforts of trying to get off our reliance on oil. The system is completely broken, especially in the US. When oil conglomerates can own some of the most innovative patents for electric cars you know there's trouble. Then there's the US government mandating the dilution of gasoline with ethanol so the corn industry doesn't tank. And so on, and so on. |

Disconnectedby jagarComment: #1
When I'm walking down the street, I purposely plow into people who are completely engrossed in their media. Here I see three potential victims.
It's sad this is what society has become. I get even more irate when out shopping somewhere and the person paying is on their cell phone while the cashier attempts to ask them questions. The ironic thing with this photo is all three people are probably talking to each other. |

Parrot Portraitby bcenuComment: #3, tied with another.
The background doesn't look real, the parrot doesn't look real, the whole image looks absurd, and that's why I like it. I really hope that was the effect you were trying to attain otherwise my comment may be construed as an insult. I really do think it's one of the better entries, and only have three photos ranked higher. |

I Believe I Can Flyby fngood83Comment: Giving this my third highest vote along with two others.
Hard to give the reasons I like this over some of the others. Maybe it's just different from all the flag waving and firework entries. This is the only one I'm having trouble explaining with my comments. |

Answer to No Oneby markwileyComment: Giving this my third highest vote along with two others.
I would have titled it "Answers to No One", but that's a minor quibble. This was the idea I had when the challenge was first announced, but I don't plan on entering anymore challenges, and couldn't find the appropriate nomad, for lack of a better term, to photograph. There's a sense he just doesn't a crap about the world or someone three feet away taking his picture. |
