Puzzled Daisy'sby WildpurpleComment: i'd be interested in how you did this! although, i must say it's a little less unusual viewpoint, and more original presentation. i like the image - the (i would hazard) intentionally blurry effect is really nice - and gives it a distinctive appearance compared to the other flower shots. i'm not mad on the split screen effect though. 5. |

Curious Cowsby e301Comment: the angle / position of the shot does seem a bit of a standard in terms of cow photography (if ever there was a specialist field)... however, it is decidedly appealing. i like the brightness of the colours (the biege cow, grass and sky, particularly), the lack of clutter away from the cows. and cow noses always get the thumbs up from me. i'm not quite as keen on the position of the sun - the shadow of the cows left ear makes it look a smidgeon unbalanced to me. also, the cow on the right is a bit too silhouettey - can't see the buggers eyes. in all though - it's great! 8. |

Distractionsby frumoazniculComment: I like this muchly. not entriely sure re: the unusual viewpoint factor - but everything else is lovely... i like the way you've captured your models face, her being somehow interestingly thoughtful and seemingly nice... the background, including the light through the blurry trees, is really cool. tones are amongst the best on a monochrome image i've seen for quite a while... and the graininess (intentional or not) works REALLY well. defintely record sleeve quality. but is it unusual enough. dunno. i was going to go for a 7, but the more i get drawn to it... 8. |

Sky Highby L1Comment: This is great - i love the shiny blue, the sky is bright and interesting... it certainly meets the challenge, so no problems there. i do think the green plastic stuff does detract a wee bit... did you consider rotating yourself round a bit to avoid it? still, it's a well crafted image - 8. |

Birds eye viewby mattrixComment: I'm not how "unusual" a viewpoint this is, but whoo! what a great picture. and it's different, i guess - how yu've focused on the eyes is a triumph! the detail is fantastic - it's a remarkable picture, beautiful and unimprovable. i like the off-centre setting, the green contrasting background, and mr peacock himself. i am having does not meet the challenge issues, and if i didn't, it would be a 10. as it is, because of my indecisiveness, i'll plump for a 9. well done though - truly an inspiring and encouraging picture. |

tiltby sfaliceComment: it's hard to find an unusual viewpoint on a spherical object - surely it looks the same no matter what angle you take the picture from... i don't think a golf ball is the best choice of material - although if you got in closer and cropped it so you couldn't tell it was ball-shaped, it would be a bit more unusual. technically, the shot has really decent focus, but methinks is a bit on the noisy side? |

Fenced...by scwortmanComment: you've done something to the original image, but am not sure what. too much brightness, not enough contrast? dunno. do you have photoshop? if so, try using curves - by manipulating the top and bottom ends of the curves, you can make the darker areas darker and the brighter areas brighter. brightness is really the achilles heel here... |

Central Park Bench by daisy77Comment: I don't know what it is about this one. i keep coming back to it - it might not be the best picture this week, but it is certainly my no.1 favourite. it's completely met the challenge, has originality in spades, and i'm definitely attracted to it. after voting, you should put the colour one on your portfolio, for i would be interested to view it. this would have been great for the centre challenge. i might have been tempted to snip off the leaves in the immediate foreground - but then it's an interesting feature, so i'm glad you didn't. this is great, get's a 10 from me and hopefully it will make the top 10. |

View from a Hammockby desertdocComment: to be honest, the view here doesn't seem all that unusual - particularly for hammock dwellers... and the darkness of the foreground (i.e. you!) is a bit too much of a contrast with the outside - if the outside / inside ration was lessened (by zooming more on the background and feet) the darkness to me might not seem so oppressive. |

Lupinby geewhyComment: This is a very gorgeous wonderful image. colours and focus are superb - though i think it would have been within the rules is you cloned out the bird in the background... it's not really close enough to be anything other than a slight dostraction. it's a pity there wasn't a bit more cloud to fill the blue. that withstanding, this is defintely one of my top five, and an easy 10. |
