A most impressive image. here, the photographer used a clever angle to find the heart of this subject and nail a ribbon. Good work.

I have a confession to make... When I looked at your photo I originally gave it an eight. Then I looked at it again and thought that there wasnt too much substance in the shot. I then changed it to a six. Only after i looked at it about thirty more times after the competition ended did it really start to grow on me. I would have liked to see a sharper image but really its a great shot... I think I got my vote wrong. Sorry. Congrats on the ribbon

Great shot. Congrats on the ribbon. Now, stop gloating, or I will have to say... That your mother smells of elderberry and your father is a hamster... :P Good job.

Nifty shot. Congratulations on your win. I visited NYC in October and I know just where this bench is. Cool shape for a bench. You took a different angle and it worked. Ann

Margaret, it's a shame I didn't vote on this challenge! I saw this angle myself during the outing, but did not take the time to shoot it. Yours is better than mine would have been anyway! Congratulations on your first ribbon! I can say "I knew her when..."

Nice geometry - the B&W really works well here.

Very nice, but the leaves in the top right corner are distracting. (9)

This is beautiful, the connection to the challenge is obvious, this is the best example I saw so far in the challenge where the unusual point of view is ment to enhance the composition. The circles, the lines, also good choice to make this b/w. I don't think it would worked so well in colors. 10.

A different view through a common object. I like the choice of black and white for this one. Nice grain to the image. The leaf in the foreground is a bit distracting. I might have actually removed it from the tree. Very nice! 9

Having it dead center throws me off... Bottom right corner would've gotten a higher score from me. Neat idea I'd like to see you try again.

I don't know what it is about this one. i keep coming back to it - it might not be the best picture this week, but it is certainly my no.1 favourite. it's completely met the challenge, has originality in spades, and i'm definitely attracted to it. after voting, you should put the colour one on your portfolio, for i would be interested to view it. this would have been great for the centre challenge. i might have been tempted to snip off the leaves in the immediate foreground - but then it's an interesting feature, so i'm glad you didn't. this is great, get's a 10 from me and hopefully it will make the top 10.

very nice capture! this is definitely an interesting viewpoint. My only nitpick is the leaf in front that's just out of focus, and sort of blocking the bench. otherwise, excellent!

Very interesting photo. Perfect example of viewpoint and how looking at something as mundane as a bench in a different way can reveal art.

This shot could use for a little bit more depth of field on the bench. Also this image looks very similar to the type of shot I took last August for the Desolation challenge.
