Martian Landscapes (yes, it's a mars bar!)by redmoonComment: Well, even though this shot was a rush job and I wasn't very pleased with it, I am pleasantly surprised with how well it did and even more pleased with the encouraging and constructively critical comments left by the following lovely people. And I learnt stuff, like:
simplicity in titles is normally appreciated
borders are generally not a good idea, especially when they're a bit imposing like mine
NeatImage totally destroys any texturey feel (though necessary because there was so much noise - still, hopefully extra practice will remedy this)
and apparently, I'm not very original, dammit ;) ! (I'll have to find the other chocolate one)
Still, if anyone who left comments happens to find this, thanks! I'm now very much inspired to perservere with this hobby / project.
cheers

Echo (of a ceiling fan chain fob)by davidbedardComment: This is really good, but it might (in my opinion) have been spectacular. the "echo" on the left totally detracts from the beauty of the main subject, kind of wasting the really good detail and lighting you have. I'd have liked the ball thingy to be bigger / closer in, filling the shot more. 8. |

Growth Opportunity by EddyGComment: I adore the concept of this one. You deserve full marks if only for effort - I'm well impressed. Nice one. 10 |

Fresh Flush!by Harz_JoergComment: What a fantastic image. colours and the sharpness of details are superb. I have absolutely nothing constructive to say as i can't see how it might be improved. Inspiring. I'm going to take a picture of my toilet right now! 10! |

Printer Paperby MaestroGeek1Comment: Sheet of paper? That IS mundane! Did you specifically try to go for the most unexciting object ever? You're very brave - pays off quite well too! Might be a little more striking if it had been a bit squarer (bottom right specifically). Still, surprisingly impressed given the subject matter. 8! |

Water Drop on a Mirror in front of my Monitorby lear202btComment: Interesting take on an old favourite - droplet convincingly looking like mercury. Can't work out how much the picture has been rotated, indeed, if it has at all. The bottom left is a bit too distracting - loses some of the purity you have in the foreground and background. like it lots. 9. |

These keys open the door to technologyby xcharrierComment: I actually like this - fingers are naturally gravitated to keyboards anyway, and it's partly interactive because i'm experiencing the touch of a keyboard right now! I like how the characters appear raised on the keys too. very nice. 10. |

The Thames, a body of waterby redmoonComment: *sigh*
yes, i know, I have a wonky head. The bizarre thing is, I actually rotated it ACW before submission... And the horizon is (give or take half a degree) at right angles with the sides. But, yes, it looks like a ski slope. must be an optical illusion with the foreground or something. tsck. nevermind, it didn't do so badly (for what I felt was a more than a tad boring shot anyway) |

Expiredby Firstrich1Comment: Absolutely totally adore this image. Very artistic, and quite beautiful. Does this make me respect traffic wardens more for preserving the artistic values of these devillish items? No. But I'm impressed with the composition, and it's a great choice of subject matter. 10. |
