Placed a mirror in front of my computer monitor, with a water drop, as far back as possible. Just shot the water drop in macro mode, which showed the monitor and the walls of my study. Even though I know everyone is sick of water drop shots, I'd never tried one, so I decided to go ahead and do one, but in a different way.

Well thanks for stating the bleedin' obvious for us all in your title! Interesting view but top highlight is very distracting.

Interesting take on an old favourite - droplet convincingly looking like mercury. Can't work out how much the picture has been rotated, indeed, if it has at all. The bottom left is a bit too distracting - loses some of the purity you have in the foreground and background. like it lots. 9.

Gives the water an opaque seeming characteristic.. i like it.

IMHO a water drop on a mirror in front of a monitor does not to me say mundane... You appear to have the wrong white balance here. You are really on the yellow side of things.
