Tryst inside the Webby gintayComment: But for the slightly too narrow DOF this would have been my favorite. As is, top 5. Great find. |

The Outside is Coming In by ecmguyComment: Ought to ribbon. I feel like the editing left something on the table, but it is a great find, simply presented. |

Upload Complete by HipychikComment: This one gets the blue. It may not be anything i would hang on my wall, but it nails the challenge and it gets extra points for the clever. |

Industrial Lakeby orvaratliComment: If you could only have made this "crisper", I'm sure it would have placed higher.
If you do manage to find a way to subvert the laws of optical physics and get a razor sharp high moisture content air, do let me know.
I kinda figured moist air tends to blur things a bit so I thought this was top 3, but..... |

Still Life with Birdby vawendyComment: Thanks for the explanation of the process, your diligence was rewarded.
This was a 7 for me and would have been higher but for that lable on the wine bottle. It is the source of the brightest whites and the greatest contrasts in the image (and letters always pull the eye), but it doesn't contribute to the overalll image at all. Had you turned the bottle so the lable's impact was diminished (or better yet soaked it off) the bird and the flower would have had their rightful place as the magnets to the eye. With the subtle reflections on the bottle and the blueberries in harmony.
PS..spraying the bottle with artist's fixative, or hairspray will diffuse reflections giving blurry highlights and lines instead of crisp reflections of whatever is behind the photographer. Message edited by author 2018-07-09 14:39:41. |
