take a walk with meby gtp1164Comment: I like what you tried to do here, but there are a few elements that could use some improvement. Firstly, the white balance is off - everything has a strange cast to it that is just not appealing. It feels dreary, depressing, and in general not very inviting. Second, the trees don't provide atmosphere as much as annoyance.. they are out of focus and blocking the view. Focus is a problem here. If you had been standing a bit to the right and knelt down a bit, the view of the bridge through the trees would have been much better. The colour could be fixed with post processing, or maybe conversion to b&w. This has a lot of potential, and it does meet the challenge - good effort. |

Where does it end?by eaemthomasComment: While this does meet the challenge, this isn't a particularly interesting shot for a couple of reasons. The first is that you can pretty clearly see the surroundings, and there is no suggestion of a never ending bridge, or of isolation - if it were darker around the edges, this would be a more dramatic and therefore more interesting shot. Secondly, the colour is very drab and washed out. A black and white conversion or some colour work would drastically improve the appeal. Good effort, though :) |

X's & O'sby ace flymanComment: This is a nice, tranquil setting, and you've done well on the focus. The colour seems just a tad cool, though, and the bleached sky is a little distracting. Was it foggy or gloomy? You might try warming the photo a bit in post processing or re-shooting on a more pleasant day. Nice shot, though - the composition is very good, and the photo meets the challenge well. |

Over the Emerald Watersby aznchic88Comment: Crisp and clear.. excellent colours. This photo feels like it's tilted a bit, but other than that this is some excellent work. Very pretty scene well captured. |

Stopham Bridge - 1423by marboComment: I would have loved to see a bit more highlighting on the bridge and in the water, but this is nonetheless a beautiful scene. I think slightly less saturation might be nice, as the overwhelming brown/sepia makes it feel quite muddy. That said, the details in this really make it - the trees, the slight glow in the sky, the crisp focus on the bridge. Overall very nicely done. |

'The Rookery'by robsmithComment: Very crisp and clear - love the diagonal line that dominates the photo. Exposure is great, colours are right on, and the focus is sharp throughout. Nice job! |

Gull Above the Gunsby ImagineerComment: Beautiful shot. This somehow manages to convey warmth of light while still feeling rather cold and gloomy - the water and boats perhaps? Excellent composition, and the deep depth of field works beautifully. I can see people complaining about the slight grain, but I like it. |

Old Stone Bridgeby dwolffComment: The subject is great and the composition is pretty pleasing to the eye; the photo definitely meets the challenge. However, the white balance appears to be off, and the undersaturation doesn't really work - it would be nicer either fully coloured or converted to b&w. For some reason, my eye doesn't like the space to the left of the bridge - it wants to see the bridge go to the edge of the photo. The setting is great, though, and the focus and DOF are excellent. |

Bridging the racial gap in South Africaby KarGirlComment: This has the opportunity to be a very moving shot, but the light seems to be a bit too harsh to set the mood. The narrow crop is also distracting. The focus, however, is great, and the idea fits the challenge. |

Sunset Bridgeby waterliliesComment: This appears to be a bit oversharpened, as there is a lot of haloing, but the effect works. Very lovely scenery, with nice colours. |
