Hard to beat beat of glass.
(well, I could try and beat it, but it would just dent...) |

Left me rather speechless. |

Come relax with us this summerby BradComment: Originally posted by bmilne: nice capture, but could use a tune up in photoshop to make it pop just a bit more, especially in the eye |
Appreciated the comment and suggestion. I opted not to Post-process this more as I wanted it to truly look like it really was. A Lion's eye, when closed is a light color lid showing and burned it in a bit, as it really looks weird, almost makes them look like they are blind.
To all that left so many great compliments, thanks!
Was a nice change of pace to score well. |

gone with the wind by halopesComment: Stunning example of composition and theme. The b&w conversion was right one the money for this one. One I surely would have been proud to call my own. |

A Classic Loveby JudiComment: I honestly don't believe this one ended up under 10th place.
There is a magical feel about this, a softness well shown and a 3D appearance that really works for this. Almost reminds me of an old postcard or similar. If this had been mine, it would have been my Best of 2008 for sure. |

Was a fun afternoon:

IMG_9553.jpgby BradComment: One flash with Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce diffuser.
Was later in the day, somewhat shady/soft light. Flash was under manual power, exposure bias value was -1/3EV (trial & error)
Here is the original, no adjustments made in RAW conversion, resized in Bicubic sharper:
Edit to add:
I'm not sure if the flash was on the Stroboframe flip bracket or if I was holding
it up high or off to the side, as I used so many different combinations that day. Message edited by author 2008-12-09 17:13:47. |
