I see a very grand building, but blown lights from some aspect of the settings in your camera. I am curious what this building is, or whatever information you hopefully put in the comments. With a little spot editing, I'd see a print of this being welcomed.

Greetings from the Critique Club.
Challenge: This shot meets the challenge in your view of it, and I can make the connection to a concept of 'Afterlife' for this watch.
Composition: The framing and placement of the spring are well done in this shot. The lighting difficulties noted below detract from the detail, but with some work this shot could be produced in a very inviting way.
Color/Lighting: I see this photograph as being somewhat dark, and therefore ultimately seeming very flat. Part of this effect is from the shallow focus in the shot, but I believe that the lack of sufficient light makes it difficult to really see what you are shooting.
Clarity: The focus in this shot is very soft on the watch spring, while the foreground portion of the table is very clearly in focus. The depth of field in this shot is too shallow in my opinion - my guess is that you were attempting to shoot this in macro, which really works better for nature than for darkly lit shots such as this one.
Overall: This shot is a creative take on the challenge topic, but I think it could have been executed better by adding more light to the shot, and cropping rather than zooming in on the subject. The one other comment I will make is that it is much easier to critique a shot if I know what you did to take it - look at some of the other shots in the challenge to see this type of information - type of lighting (table light, overhead or shining from the side, inside/outside, and any steps taken following the shot to enter it - crop, colors, etc.

This would work great for natural framing too. the leaves look almost OOF, but it's hard to tell with the hazy morning.

I'm curious if the colors were adjusted here just because I've never seen an aurora that color. Very nice shot.

This seems a bit noisy to me... maybe the ISO was set too high for the day, but the sky is distracting here.

Cool shot... i'm guessing like a 5 minute exposure to get the long star trails?

This is a very unique shot... I'm guessing the light on the river/road is from the fireworks? Nicely exposed, and a very nice capture.

The maximum size for one side of your shot is 640px, and this is 600px on the long side. Not a huge difference, but I would like this shot more at the larger size.

The maximum size for one side of your shot is 640px... use it. Smaller shots are just harder to see and appreciate, especially a shot like this which potentially is a very nice shot.

Did you sharpen the clouds to make them look surreal or unnatural? It just looks a little off to me.
