empty cupby clictacameraComment: With a title of empty cup,one would expect to see a cup. The item in the hand is too much out of focus to distinguish. Because of this one has to assume that the person on the floor s the main subject in this photograph. However I do not get an impression of poverty here. |

Life Savingsby atsxusComment: The balance of light and dark does give the impression of a quick snap rather than a thought out photograph. Using a softer lighting would change this view. |

Wearyby BudComment: Fantistic Portrait, great depth of emotion. As a straight photograph, this deserves a very high score. I have reduced a few marks because I feel that it does not evoke poverty enough or me. |

Suffer the Little Childrenby GuinnessComment: Great portrait, good focus and haunting eyes, does not give me the impression of poverty though, more like sadness, but a lovely photo |

Wheelchairby mickwestComment: This image evokes atmosphere, an even stronger impact could be achieved if the rule of thirds had been adopted here. |

Study languageby monzer55Comment: I have looked at this a few times now.
For me the image is rather static. If it were rotated 20 degree Anti-Clock-Wise you would have a much more dynamic image. |

Music Classby alanfreedComment: I would prefer a little more depth of field.
By the way I have a sink plunger that looks just like these bells.... |

Lines Againby kevrobertsonComment: I find an image has more impact if it looks like you are actually writing the note.
Your pen is resting on on the first S and looks too staged for me.
I would have stoped half way through the last row, and rested my pencil at the end of the stoke for that letter |

Why can't studies be simpler?by NitinComment: We must use the same optician as my specs look identical.
The diagonal works well in this but because you can only see the top sheets of the book it give an unbalanced feeling. I feel if you lit a little of the spine it would make it feel more like a book .
Revisiting I am looking at this on a different screen and can see all the spine, It would seem that my laptop at home is rather darker...Message edited by author 2004-10-27 03:11:40. |

Test Timeby Duke22Comment: nice idea, however the holding of the peb does not look natural to me. It looks like you have held the camera in your right hand to shoot this image.
Try using a tripod or rest the cammera on something (Some books and a beenie). You can then concentrate on your left hand then. |
