Black and white portrait.jpgby JeniYComment: I like the lighting and shadows. I find the curtain in the bg mildly distracting as it takes focus away from the eyes. Eyes seem a little soft in focus, it looks like the dof has reached its limit with the models right eye as it seems softer than the left.
I really like the comp and the nearly full fram aspect - I think this would be much more powerful cropped in a portrait aspect ratio.
Overall: I like it. |

PICT0001-1.jpgby Buckeye_FanComment: My suggestion would be to choose a single subject for the photo. In this photo too many elements are competing for time, esp the light in the middle.
I really really like the lighting effect on the tree ... or are those clouds? Either way, I like it (more so if it's light reflecting from leaves in the tree).
It would help to know technical info (exposure, fstop, etc) to go more in depth.
Edit to say missed that it was a 4 second exposure Message edited by author 2005-11-16 20:46:41. |

Ducksby sibelingComment: I like this photo. I enjoy the "peeking through the cattails" look and find the use of dof and foreground oof nicely done and adds quite well to the photo. Very nice. |

roughby christie3Comment: Suggestion/observation: I think the horizon is tiltled a tad.
Comment: Very nice photo - love the focus and dof. Can't wait to see what you do editwise. |

hint of...by ShecoyaComment: My suggestion, above all of my opinionated suggestions, is: if you like it do it - it adds to you and your style and shows you have a vision of what you want to express.
Either way this is still an excellent photo (nudie bum and curtain to the side and all) :) ... I would recommed entering this in the single light source challenge (that's me being opinionated again). :) |

You know, looking at this again I'd say the fabric to the left of the image takes away from the model ... I tried this to see for myself, what do you think? |

hint of...by ShecoyaComment: Great lighting Shecoya, the play of shadow and light is excellent. Excellent focus on the eyes, and great expression on the model. Very nicely done.
Don't know if you noticed but it doesn't appear as if she's wearing undies - easy to overlook though :)
Very nicely done! |

Elusiveby Dax-Comment: Well golly Bea, I'm gone for a couple of days and you put up yet another excellent example of art and your exceptional talent. Hopefully one day I'll recover from my awe at your talent to not sound like a simpering idiot repeating over and over "wow. oh wow." and offer deeper insight into my appreciation for your talent. |

abstract peppers.jpgby danica22Comment: I like the concept but feel that symmetry would have carried the day to push this photo over the top. As it is this photograph is hugely interesting in perspective, hues, shapes, and just about everything compositionally. Maybe a glow filter to give an ethereal feel? Overall (at least for me) perfect symmetry would have done wonders.
Final score: very well done, I like! |
