The biggest challenge in this challenge is dealing with the cats. I don't mind cats but for reasons unknown, I wince at pictures of them. Not this one though, because it's a pure expression of catness. Tones, inky blackness, ambiguous light and slinky grain. All the elements necessary to convincingly assemble some cats. Thank you.

This is the thing that keeps me fascinated with photographs. A good photograph, a considered photograph, can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Every object in this photograph, every tone and texture, every shape, every relationship between all of those elements and dimensions, is thoughtful and good. I thought it was a seal from the thumb. Not the kind in the ocean. The wax-sealing kind. Now that it's not, I see a little jewel, like a snow globe, or a Fabergé egg. It makes a square frame obligatory, as in a presentation case or box. Thank you.
