I like this shot. It has a very human feel to it, which I like more than anything. I don't know what your exposure data is, but I think a little more DOF would have helped. I see the hands and the cube as your focus point, but the right arm is a very strong (if not the strongest) element in the photo, and it's a little soft. I love the way the right arm brings your eye to the hands and the cube. Title is also great. With better DOF I'd give it a 9 or 10, as is I give it an 8. Good luck with the challenge!

I love the idea and the details. great use of DOF. The only thing that would improve the image for me is the crop on the left side. I think more green to the left of the wood frame, or grop it closer into the wood frame would work better for me. Great image anyway! Nice job. 9

On a final review of my votes, I bumped this up to a 10, my only one! Good job...

The grid is nice, but it is the dust that really makes this image. Either your grate is not consistent dimensions across the grid, or your lens wasn't parrallel and centered over the subject. The grid thickness at the far right of the image and top of the image is consistent, but not at the left and to a lesser degree on the bottom. Not really a big deal because the center of the image captures my attention with great details. Nice job and Good Luck in the challenge. 7

Best Triscuit photo I've seen recently! I was at the grocery store yesterday and I walked by the Triscuits and immediately thought of your photo! It almost made me buy some! I bought Oreos instead (the white fudge covered ones!). Now I have a belly ache! OK, back to the real reason I'm here... Close up photography is tough to do well, and you have done a great job with your lighting of the cracker, focus, DOF, all is great. Your background is not black and has some texture (or color variations) to it. That's fine with me, but it clashes some with your black border (IMO). Overall, a nice image and I give it an 8. Good Luck!

This shot is one of my favorites this week! Great idea. I would have liked to see more of the image that is cut off at the right side of the frame. I like that the eye is not in the center of the 'square, but I think it would have better balance if it were further from the upper right of the thumb. This is a good shot and I give it an 8. I would try some more versions and work with placement of the eye within the fingers. This is a fun idea that I would try to get the best image possible to enjoy, not just for the challenge!

I love your depth of field in this shot. I spent $10 buying blocks just like these, but entered a different shot instead.
Your colors are great... very vibrant without being over saturated. I would like to have seen the little girl's whole hand on the left side of the frame. Getting the whole hand in might have been at the cost of less of her face??? Face is better than fingers, though. Nice shot, very well done. 8

This is a good idea, and you've done it well, but you forgot to make it square!

I like this shot for what it is, but I don't see much land. I love the blue sky and the way the sun is a dull white spot in the background. The shape of the tree is very good, although I would like it better if the branch on the right were not cut off at the edge of the frame. I also would have liked it if the branch at the bottom was showed attaching to the trunk. I understand you can't get rid of the power lines due to spot editing rules, so they are ok. A fun shot, but I give it a 6 for this challenge because it says "picture of a sillohuetted tree" instead of "landscape"!
The Hill In Infrared

The use of infrared gives this shot a lot of drama and emotion. I like the range of tones from blacks to whites. This almost has an illustration quality to it. The only thing I'm not liking is the horizon at the center of the frame. I like seeing the horizon offset, either higher or lower in the frame. The diagonal lines in the foreground are a very stong element in this photo, as are the dramatic clouds. Even though they are both strong elements, I still think cropping to place your horizon near the 1/3 or 2/3 line would help. Nice shot and nice use of black and white! 8
