I might have straightened the horizon a bit more with a centered shot like this (could be a perception thing if the garden is sloped); actually, I have to straighten many of my shots. I must look at the world crookedly half the time ;-)

If the leash adds context but draws the eye too much I often re-color it to blend in with the background or dog or person better, but this pic definitely called for leash elimination. I wouldn't have guessed you'd done it if you hadn't said so!
