Multiplicity. by Dan_CottleComment: All I know is if I can fool the voters to win a ribbon, i'd do it in a flash :P
Originally posted by kenskid: I remember there was a 2-second exposure challenge last year. The challenge was to take an exposure of 'exactly 2 seconds'. One of the top three was on a 1/2 or 1/8 second shot if I recall. The shutter speed was listed it the specs of the pic.
I complained that I tried for days to come up with a good 2 second shot but could not get it right and did not enter. IMO the 2 second shot was difficult.
I complained about it in a forum and go many many emails telling me to lighten up because it was a great shot and that DNMC is ok, even if it wins.
You should expect some of the same replies!

Oh well...very disappointed. Not in the shot - I like it and think it is a very well executed idea and very well presented. However, the challenge was clear that more than one source of light was to be used. I don't care how many times you flash it or strobe it, if it is the same light source, then it was NOT multiple. Especially if that light source was stationary.
I realize you got the blue for this but I am sorry, I feel it was not well deserved and you 'deceived' the voting public with the submission. A good shot is a good shot. But even the best shot is not worthy of the blue if it did not meet the intent of the competition.
Lighting is the most important element in photography. Make the obvious use of multiple light sources a key factor in your composition this week. | |

Multiple Sunsby DziuggyComment: Although it my appear that there are multiple suns, common sense dicates that there is only one sun. Therefore, there is onle one light source in this image. DNMC |
